You don’t need an intense workout to improve your health. Sometimes, one of the best things you can do is simply go for a walk.
A daily 20–30 minute walk can:
- Reduce joint stiffness
- Improve heart health
- Increase energy levels
- Strengthen muscles that support your hips, knees, and back
- Improve balance and reduce fall risk
- Boost mood and decrease stress
If you’re just getting started, don’t worry about speed. Consistency is more important than intensity. Even a 10-minute walk after each meal can provide meaningful health benefits.
If walking causes discomfort, don’t ignore it—but don’t assume you have to stop forever either. Pain during walking can often be improved with the right strengthening, mobility, and movement strategies.
Challenge for today: Take a 20-minute walk and notice how you feel afterward. Your future self will thank you.
